Rebuild what your body can do around skills that make the practice matter.
Gymnastic Strength Training (GST) is a more exacting form of adult calisthenics built around progressive bodyweight skills. Compared with general calisthenics, the standard is not simply whether a repetition is completed. GST also emphasizes the quality of every position—body line, tempo, range, control, and details such as pointed toes. Evolve To Fit connects this coaching directly to the system developed by Coach Christopher Sommer. Handstands, bridges, rings, splits, and bodyweight strength are the training tools; the outcome is broader capability: mobility, control, strength, confidence, and greater autonomy.
Choose a class time for coached strength, mobility, and skill practice.

Outcome first. Skill and progression second.
- Mobility
- Strength
- Autonomy

Bodyweight training, with coaching and a clear progression.
Bridges and stall-bar work are examples of where the practice can lead. You do not need to perform these advanced positions before joining; your starting progression should match your current ability.

Built for adult learners
Start with the progression, not the finished skill.

You do not need to arrive flexible, inverted, or experienced. Each skill can be broken into preparatory positions, strength work, and smaller ranges that make the practice understandable.
- Learn the shape and setup
- Build the control to hold it
- Add range or load gradually
- Use coach feedback to choose the next step
The coaching process
Choose the version. Build toward the next one.
Suppose we’re working on a supported squat: feet planted, moving down and back up at a pace you can control. If the last part becomes rushed, I would shorten the range and watch another repetition.
If you can repeat that version with control, I might ask for a little more range while keeping the support the same. Can you still keep your feet planted and control the pace? We would also review how the practice fits your response before deciding what to build on next time.
The point is to make the next challenge specific. Sometimes we reduce a demand to learn the movement; sometimes we add a little more. I would change one thing at a time so we can see what changed. The setup and progression depend on the person and the goal.

A personal connection to the practice
Learning with Coach Christopher Sommer.
Coach Sommer does not grant affiliate status casually. Evolve To Fit is one of only two GymnasticBodies affiliates worldwide, and Aric Lee’s direct relationship with Coach Sommer extends back nearly 20 years.
That relationship connects the coaching to the source of the system—its progressions, standards, and attention to details that separate Gymnastic Strength Training from general calisthenics. That direct affiliation connects the studio to Coach Christopher Sommer’s training system and progression standards.

At Evolve To Fit, the emphasis is on coached progressions: building mobility, control, and strength before asking for a more demanding skill.
